My New Year’s Eve (and day) Makeup tutorial! (featuring Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette!)

Happy New Year’s Eve once again my lovely readers! Here’s to my last official post of 2013! This year has been quite the rollercoaster ride for me. It has ended on the positive side and I’m looking forward to what 2014 has in store! On to the tutorial!

For my last post of the year, I’m featuring both a day and night look along with three of my go to lip looks I’ve been wearing all season. And for the surprise, I’m creating these looks using my new Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette! Special thanks to my lovely boyfriend and best friend for my gift! You guys are the best! This post is a bit lengthy so lets get into it!

What You’ll Need:

An eye primer to  creates a base for the shadows to adhere to, enhances the vibrancy of the shadows and make your shadows last all day! I’m using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion.

Urban Decay’s Naked 3 Palette. The colors I’m using are indicated in the picture below.

Nyx jumbo pencil in “Milk”

You’ll need the brush that comes in the palette as shown in the picture above, a fluffy blending brush, a regular blending brush, a pencil brush and a flat eye shading brush.

Lip products used will be listed below at the end of the tutorial!

Lastly, you’ll need your favorite mascara! My favorite right now is Cover Girl’s LashBlast Clump Crusher Extensions Mascara!

 Step 1:

With your finger, apply the primer to your entire lid area up to your brows.

Step 2:

Next you’ll want to apply the Nyx Jumbo pencil in “Milk” to just your lid area. I just apply it straight from the pencil onto the lid.

Step 3:

With the flat side of the brush that comes with the palette, blend out the white pencil as shown below.

Step 4:

Take whatever is left of the white pencil and smudge it under your lower lash line like so:

Step 5:

Next take your flat shading brush and apply the color “Strange” to your brow bone area as your highlight color. I like to start with the highlight color first and make my way down. I’ve found that doing so helps all of the colors blend better. Remember, the key to any great eye look is blending!

Step 6:

Next take your fluffy brush and apply the color “Limit” to your crease and slightly above your crease. Make sure you blend it in well with your highlight color.

Step 7:

Next take your regular blending brush and apply the color “Trick” directly into your crease. Follow up by taking your blending brush and blending everything out again.

Should end up looking something like this:

Step 8:

Next take your shading brush and apply the color “Factory” to your lid area.

Step 9:

Next take the other side of the brush from the palette (the fluffier side) and apply a bit more of “Limit” to your lower lash line, buffing out the color as you go to get a more blended affect. It should look something like this when you’re done:

Step 10:

Lastly, take your pencil brush and go back into the color “Strange” and apply that to your inner tear duct area to brighten up the look a bit.

Apply your mascara and you’re all done. Here’s  what you should end up with:
