Hey lovely readers! TGIF! Ahh the holidays, a time of laughter, coming together, gift giving and an abundance of festive gatherings. I like to think of holiday get togethers as a time to get just a bit more fancy than usual. Especially if it’s a fancy soiree like a Christmas jazz concert.
Last weekend, I had the pleasure of styling the phenomenal up-and-coming jazz musician, Phil Denny and his band! Earlier in the week I played personal shopper to Phil to find the perfect holiday get up for what was sure to be an amazing concert. It was a lot of fun and I got a good glimpse into what a stylist’s life is like. I directed the styling of his band and other performers, suggesting that they wear all black/dark ensembles with red accent pieces like ties, or handkerchiefs. Keepin’ things classy.
And of course, I was excited for a chance to get extra glammed up for a night filled with great local performances and talent and the holiday spirit. I did this shoot indoors in my makeshift studio since it’s entirely too cold to shoot outside right now. But anyway, I saw this dress a few months back at a local boutique called Jeanologie, and immediately thought that it would be a great piece to wear to a holiday gathering or concert in this case. Sexy yet classy and of course, versatile! On to the photos!
